Reclaiming Space

This unique space was truly challenging and fun to design and finish!  As a combination of an old cellar-height basement and new addition dug down adjacent, there were lots of layout challenges to begin with.  The owner wanted to preserve the exposed brick foundation wall where possible, and build a new bar/living/office space with an open feel. The Murphy bed and cantilevered shelving at the office are bright and classic, while the bar just behind it has a dark and quiet feel with bright punches of color.  The fireplace and seating area tie them together with a striking surround made from reclaimed trim boards from the original house’s doors.
